Your street may differ: each report covers a reservoir or tower and the area it feeds, and higher streets lose water first. What JW's words mean
Day by day
In 2026 so far: 87 days short of water for President Park Tower, from 189 days with a report; 35 days for President Park Reservoir, from 189; 6 days for Grand Central Tower, from 189; 3 days for Grand Central Reservoir, from 189. A typical supply in the city, the median one (half had fewer), had 4 days.
Each square is a day, as JW reported it for a supply: a reservoir or tower that JW reports on. The number at the right is the month's days short of water.

A day counts as short of water when JW's worst report for it that day was “poor pressure to no water” or “critically low”, as happening or expected (expected most often means higher streets). A warning that it may occur does not count.
Is anyone fixing it?
No JW notice we have read names President Park Tower.
In short
The latest JW report on this site is from 29 September 2026; the site last read JW's website on 1 October. Grand Central Tower had weak water or none. President Park Reservoir had weak water or none at 13:00 and closed overnight on purpose at 20:55. Grand Central Reservoir was low at 13:00 and supplying fairly at 20:55. President Park Tower had water, weak in some places. This year Grand Central Tower was short of water on 6 of the 189 days JW reported it. A typical reservoir or tower in the city had 4 such days. No JW notice we have read names Grand Central Tower.
President Park Reservoir, 29 September 2026: weak water or none at 13:00, the worst status in this report (JW: “Low and supplying, poor pressure to no water is expected in certain parts”), then closed overnight on purpose at 20:55 (JW: “Outlet closed overnight to build capacity”).
JW put it on its website 1 October 2026 at 13:40. JW's page for this board ↗ · JW's image of the board ↗
President Park Tower, 29 September 2026: water, weak in some places at 20:55, on bypass, the worst status in this report (JW: “On bypass. Supplying fairly. Poor pressure may occur”).
JW put it on its website 1 October 2026 at 13:40. JW's page for this board ↗ · JW's image of the board ↗
“On bypass” is JW's term. When JW repaired Hursthill 2 Reservoir from December 2025, it put the reservoir on bypass so that teams could work safely inside, and customers still received water; the news reports said this could bring periods of low pressure or no water (EWN ↗, The Citizen ↗). A reservoir or tower on bypass does not count as back when this page checks JW's end dates.
President Park draws on four supplies at once: Grand Central Reservoir, Grand Central Tower, President Park Reservoir and President Park Tower. JW does not say which street each one reaches.
On JW's list of towers, June 2024, as President Park Ext.7. JW fills this tower from Grand Central Reservoir, which also supplies President Park: “The level of the Grand Central Reservoir was stable overnight. The reservoir is pumping to the tower but will be stopped once the threshold is reached.” JW ↗Source 1 ↗
Listed on JW's pages, as President Park Ext.1, President Park Ext.10, President Park Ext.11, President Park Ext.14, President Park Ext.17, President Park Ext.19, President Park Ext.30, President Park Ext.36, President Park Ext.38, President Park Ext.4, President Park Ext.42, President Park Ext.48, President Park Ext.53, President Park Ext.7. Source 1 ↗Source 2 ↗
JW posted 18 notices with an end date that list a suburb or system President Park's supplies feed. Most name only suburbs, not the reservoir or tower, so the summary at the top uses only a notice that names the supply itself. By the stated time JW's boards showed the water back on none of the 13 end times that have passed. Each end date against what happened: Grand Central Reservoir, Grand Central Tower, President Park Reservoir and President Park Tower.
Up the supply chain
President Park's supplies are in JW's Midrand system.
On 20 July 2026, JW reported 1 of President Park's 4 supplies short of water
Where the water comes from, top to bottom, and what JW reported for each part on 20 July 2026. A suburb draws on every supply listed at once; JW does not say which street each one reaches.
JW reported poor pressure to no water at 09:35, on bypass, then supplying fairly at 21:10.
As printed: “09:35 On bypass and supplying fairly. Poor pressure to no water is expected.”; “21:10 On bypass. Supplying fairly.”

Under strain
In 2026 so far, President Park had 113 days under strain: days when JW reported any of its supplies low or worse, or warned that higher-lying areas may lose water. This is a wider count than days short of water.
The network is linked. President Park draws on all its supplies at once, and when one runs low the others carry more. At such times JW's boards sometimes warn of “poor pressure to no water in higher-lying areas”: under strain, higher streets lose water first. JW does not say which streets those are.
What JW's boards cannot tell you
JW's boards report reservoirs and towers, so some things are not in this record:
Whether water reaches your street or your tap.
Which streets lose water first: JW warns of higher-lying areas but does not name the streets.
Why a supply ran low, unless a JW notice gives a reason.
Pipe bursts, tankers and valve work, which are not on the boards.
